The Perelada Festival marks the tenth anniversary of the Summer Campus with Niu, a new creation by Aleix Martínez that is born from the connection between the region and the people who live there. Conceived as a work process with young dancers and musicians in training, the project brings these performers together with internationally renowned artists, creating a space to listen, experiment and begin to find their own voice.
Following Terra llaurada, presented on this same stage, Martínez returns to Peralada with a project that deepens his understanding of dance as an open, permeable and constantly evolving language, where technique and expression serve a personal search. Far from rigid hierarchies, movement is built through relationship, from the body in dialogue with other bodies, with music and with space.

Niu is conceived as both a place of welcome and a place of departure. It offers young performers a space to experiment, take risks and begin to sense their own path, accompanied by professionals who do not impose a model but share their experience. As Martínez himself suggests, the aim is to accompany these young artists on their maiden flight, at that moment when intuition has not yet taken a definite form but already points towards an identity in the making.

In this context, the presence of dancers from the Hamburg Ballet creates a bridge between tradition and contemporary movement practices, broadening the project's horizon and placing it in open dialogue with the international scene.
More than a performance, Niu is also an experience of creation and a gesture of continuity: a way of nurturing what is beginning, making space for emerging talent and reinforcing an idea of culture that is rooted, alive and in motion.
